The Alabyano-Baltiysky Tunnel project, aimed at creating an underground structure for transport infrastructure connecting the Sokol, Aeroport and Koptevo districts. The engineering and geological conditions of the construction site in accordance with Appendix B of SP 11-105-97 are complex and refer to the III category.
Due to the groundwater level proximity to the surface, the construction site belongs to the category of potentially flooded ones.
Engineers have developed technical solutions to provide the tunnel stability, prevent landslides and ensure safety. As part of the tunnel structure, with the amount of tunnel filling exceeding 3.0 m, installation of one to two technical floors above the roadway area are designed, which can be used for tunnel structures with technological equipment places or parking lots. The decision to use a multi-storey facility with intermediate technical floors was made due to the deep bedding of the tunnel road in accordance with the longitudinal route profile. As a result, there is a need to reduce the depth of tunnel structure backfilling due to additional intermediate floors, as well as to reduce the felling depth of the load-bearing bored piles on which the tunnel upper floor rests. The tunnel structures are protected from groundwater by sprayed waterproofing "Doroflex", and in the area of penetration under the subway tunnels – with 10 mm metal insulation along the contour. A drainage pipe with a system of inspection wells is located along the entire length of the closed and ramp parts of the tunnel near one of the walls of each direction. Drainage pipes and wells are fully included in the finishing, which eliminates the ingress of groundwater into the tunnel drainage system.
